This website provides a home for all things Autistic & Linguistic, especially if it relates to constructed languages (conlangs ). If you’re wondering why anyone would do that or be of interest to anyone, I’ve written up and posted a brief explainer here.
However, the shortest explanation is simply that I, this website
s creator (see below), am Autistic myself; and linguistics is among my interests, in particular conlanging. This bloomed from a hobby into an academic interest during my MA in Medical Humanities 2024-25, as part of which I wrote a dissertation on the ‘Construction of (Neuro)Divergence Through Language’ and made a first foray into employing the process of developing a conlang as a research methodology in form of a sketch of an autistic conlang including theoretical commentary.
I’ve since pursued this interest further through more research and conlanging as well as thinking, writing and speaking about it. On this website, I’m sharing relevant writings and thoughts, as well as (soon!) my Conlang Portfolio.
Furthermore, I am slowly building a collection of resources (articles, videos, books…) related to the intersection of autism and linguistics, in particular conlangs. Feel free to contact me if you have anything you think you think should be added!

Short bio
Gideon Henner (he/him) is a multiply neurodivergent/disabled writer, translator, neurodiversity advocate and researcher originally from Germany. His research interests concentrate on the intersection of neurodiversity and language(s). Particular focal points are the social construction of neurodivergence and neuronormativity through language, (neuro)divergent language use, and the application of constructed languages as well as translation-studies concepts in neurodiversity studies. Gideon has spoken on these topics for the podcast Conlangery, at conferences such as Autscape Online, the British Society for Literature and Science’s annual conference, and at events for organisations including the Autism Rights Group Highland (ARGH) and Autism Bucks (Buckinghamshire). He completed his MA in Medical Humanities with distinction at Durham University in 2025 and a BA in Translation Studies at SDI Munich in 2009. After in-house translation positions, Gideon has worked as a freelance translator/editor since 2012 in Scotland.
